The Great Yorkshire Crag Clean Up

MalhamWith many crags in the Yorkshire area being easily accessible to the public and climbers alike it doesn’t take long for the crags to begin to show signs of neglect through littering.  As climbers at HCC we are very keen to make sure venues throughout the area are being maintained, however being a small team we would very much like to ask for volunteers to come and give us a hand in doing so. We are also contacting local groups to come and give us a hand and look forward to having a good turn out on each of the days.  On the day we will be giving out 15% off vouchers for use at the centre on entry or courses.

We do have a list of crags that we know are in need of a good clean up to restore them to their former glory and would very much like you to give us a hand in doing so.  Dates will be announced as soon as they have been confirmed.  See dates below.

If you have any crags in mind that you also believe require some tender loving care please email us and let us know.  Crags that are currently being planned for are Baildon Bank, Shipley Glen and Ilkley Cow and Calf.

Ilkley Cow and Calf, 3 July 2010, 10am – 1pm – Cleaned (12 bags of litter collected)

Shipley Glen, 21 August 2010, 10 am – onwards, Meeting at The Old Glen House – Cleaned (7 bags of litter collected)
