Harrogate Climbing Centre runs kids clubs every day of the week. We run sessions for children aged between 5 and 17 and cater for all abilities.
The kids’ sessions introduce children to the basics of climbing indoors and can lead to development as far as international competition through tuition provided by our fully qualified and friendly staff, which include world-cup standard athletes.
Climbing is a great activity for children. It is very effective in developing balance, co-ordination and a sense of adventure. Our state of the art climbing centre provides the perfect environment for children to experience and develop their rock climbing in the safest and most enjoyable way possible.
The kids clubs at Harrogate Climbing Centre are divided into age related groups each with their own designated instructors, and tailor activities to suit:
Spiders:
The ’spiders’ group is intended for children aged between 5 and 11 years. These sessions run from 4.30 until 6.30 pm Monday to Friday and from 10.15 until 12.00 on Saturday and Sunday.
Scorpions:
The ’scorpions’ group is intended for children aged over 11. They meet from 6.45 until 8.45 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.
Children also have the option of going through the NICAS scheme in order to attain a nationally recognised qualification.
Each kids club session costs £10. This price includes entry to the wall, equipment hire and tuition.
