Outdoor Skills

IMG_5607This course is designed for people who are comfortable with belaying and climbing indoors, and want to develop their skills to climbing outdoors. The aim of this course is to enable new climbers to safely set up secure belays at the top of a crag from which to safely top rope. The course covers elements such as:

Safe rigging of a top rope

Understand basic ropework and knots

Improve climbing technique

Introduction to equipment and its uses

Understanding and interpreting guidebooks

This course will be run with a maximum of 6 people, and a minimum of 3. Insufficient uptake may result in the course being cancelled.

Outdoor Skills Courses arerun throughout the Spring and Summer- dates will be available for booking from February.

Over 14’s only, under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult who is taking part in the course.

The course runs over two days from 10:00am – 4:00pm, and costs £120 per person.

A New Entrance

Work has begun on our new entrance porch. It will be ready in three weeks, but in the meantime, the entrance to HCC has moved around the corner, through the Indulge Cafe.

Bank Holiday Opening

We will be open for climbing as normal this bank holiday.
Our hours are:
Saturday 10am – 8pm
Sunday 10am – 6pm
Monday 10am – 10pm (peak time all day)
